How should moist food be stored so it doesn’t rot in excess moisture?
Drip trays prevent spoilage of food due to excess moisture
Temperature, moisture and oxygen are the main causes of the development of microorganisms, which cause the spoilage of food. By vacuum packing food and storing it in the refrigerator you eliminate oxygen and temperature and by adding drip trays you eliminate the moisture.
How to use drip trays?
Use drip trays when storing moist or freshly washed ingredients to prevent faster degradation of food items due to excess water.
- Store arugula, lettuce or lamb’s lettuce in 1.5-litre round container and use drip tray to prevent rotting.
- Freshly washed blueberries, strawberries and other smaller fruit will stay full of flavour, aroma and vitamins thanks to storing in round vacuum container 0.75 litre.
Drip trays can be washed by hand or in the dishwasher.
Drip trays are made od polypropylene, which is BPA free and safe to use with food items.
